The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to those African-American students in the Washington DC-Maryland-VA area in the pursuit of post-secondary education through a college, university, or technical school program. The scholarship funds are intended to be a supplement to the grants, loans, and other financial assistance that students may receive while attending an institution of higher learning.
